VIII Recovery

  1. Orient basket
  2. Turn off fuel
  3. Crown line tension by crew
  4. Valve open
  5. Basket on side
  6. Squeeze air (mouth toward valve opening)
  7. Wrap crown line
  8. Disconnect valve line
  9. Position valve panel
  10. Disconnect temperature lead
  11. Disconnect envelope cables from basket
  12. Pack envelope
  13. Upright basket
  14. Depressurize fuel lines
  15. Disconnect burner from superstructure
  16. Turn off instruments
  17. Secure radio and personal gear
  18. Load and secure envelope and basket
  19. Recheck fan tie downs
  20. Check area for any gear or tools
  21. Thank landowner again
  22. Present certificate/pin
